Representing The Lincoln Project, KBN Law attorney Mario Nicolais filed an amicus curiae brief with in the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas.
Acting as counsel for The Lincoln Project, Nicolais helped file the brief - later cited on multiple occasions by the District Court when it issued a preliminary injunction - in support of plaintiffs lawsuit against Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's October 1, 2020 proclamation limiting ballot drop-boxes to one per county.
As Nicolais argued on behalf of The Lincoln Project, the proclamation burdened Republican voters who are typically older and live farther from the centrally located drop-boxes.
